CalCal is available on the web at app.calc.al and calcal.uk, and as a mobile app for iPhone and Android. Whether you are returning to your accounts or creating a CalCal account for the first time, signing in uses the same username and password you chose when you registered.
Why CalCal asks you to sign in twice
After your username and password, CalCal asks for your PIN — a short code you set up for extra security. If you have not finished PIN setup yet, the app will guide you through that step, including confirming your mobile number. See our PIN and mobile number guide for full details on setup, recovery, and text messages.
How to log in on the website
- Open app.calc.al or sign in from calcal.uk.
- Enter your username and password.
- Enter your PIN when prompted (or complete PIN setup if this is your first time).
- You will land on your CalCal dashboard or tax return area, depending on your subscription.
On the website, CalCal may briefly show “Redirecting to sign in…” while it connects to your account securely. This is normal.
How to log in on the mobile app
- Download the CalCal app from the App Store or Google Play.
- On first launch you may see a short introduction — tap through to Sign in.
- Enter your username and password, then your PIN.
- On supported phones you can enable fingerprint or Face ID after your PIN is set.
Creating a new CalCal account
To sign up for CalCal you will need your name, a username, email address, password, and a mobile phone number. The mobile number is used for account security and PIN recovery — it is required at registration.
- From the login screen, choose Sign up (or register on calcal.uk).
- Fill in your details. UK numbers can be entered as 07… or +44…; international numbers need the full country code.
- After registration, sign in with your new username and password.
- Complete PIN setup — confirm your mobile number and choose your permanent PIN.
- CalCal will then walk you through business setup (business type, accounting dates, and opening balances if needed).
Each mobile number can only be used once for a free trial. If you see a message that your number is already registered, try logging in to your existing account or choose a paid plan for a new business.
Try a demo with sample data
Not ready to commit? On the mobile app login screen, tap Try a demo. You can explore CalCal with sample customers, receipts, and reports without affecting your real records. Demo accounts are read-only for most settings — use Log Out from the menu when you are finished.
Session and security
- Password + PIN both required for full access
- Biometrics (Face ID / fingerprint) optional after PIN is set on supported phones
- Long idle periods may ask for PIN again
- Log out from the menu on shared devices
Tips for a smooth sign-in
- Use the same username on web and app — your data stays in sync.
- If you have been inactive for a while, CalCal may ask for your PIN again even on a trusted device.
- Update your profile and password on calcal.uk under Your Profile (from the app menu on web, this opens your account page).
- Forgotten password? Use the password reset on calcal.uk — not the PIN recovery screen (PIN is separate).
Common questions
I signed up but only see tax returns, not daily entries
You may be on a tax-return-only subscription. That plan focuses on Self Assessment and MTD submissions without the full bookkeeping calendar. Upgrade or add a full accounting subscription if you need receipts, invoices, and daily entries.
The website keeps redirecting and never loads
Try a different browser, disable strict ad blockers for calcal.uk and app.calc.al, or clear cookies for the site. If it persists, contact support with your browser name and whether you use a work VPN.
I forgot my PIN
Use Forgot PIN? on the PIN screen and follow the text message verification steps. See the PIN guide.
When to contact support
Contact CalCal support if you cannot sign in after resetting your password, if signup is blocked and you believe you have a paid subscription, or if PIN recovery fails repeatedly. Have your username and registered email ready — never send your PIN or text codes by email.
